I never had the honor of meeting Shlomo in person. My parents and sister knew him from the Poland-Israel mission. He was reassuring us until he passed that Israel would win. He knew in his bones that he was fighting for life and freedom. My family grieves with you the tragic loss of your son and brother. Dear family of Sgt. Nitzan Schessler. I read his bio and it touches me deeply to see just how young he was. He gave up his freedom to defend his Country, His brothers and sisters. He was brave and full of life. What a determined young man who had his whole life ahead of himself with so many talents. But yet he chose to be a light to shine for the Land of Israel. Such a soul you raised! I can only imagine the heart ache you feel at his loss. But at the same time how proud you can be of one who offered himself up for the sake of others. I hope you can take comfort knowing what an incredible gift your son gave in service for his Country. I didn’t know him personally but his life has touched mine by his story. I live in Canada, war has not reached its shores yet, but I think one day. I am a Christian, who love the Jewish people. Thank you for standing up and being a light to the nations! We need you too! My great great grandparents, great grandparents and grandparents were farmers. So I felt a connection and a need to write to you about Tal. It touched a special place in my heart that Tal was a third generation farmer. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
