We are safe because of the efforts of Captain Giat and the other men and women like Captain Giat who are brave enough and strong enough to take on this evil enemy. I say thank you to Captain Giat and thank you to his family for giving us all such a brave and capable young man who was willing to give his life to save innocent people such as myself – half a world away.

I chose to write because Captain Giat has the most warm and inviting smile I have ever seen. He was cut down far too early but his life was not in vain. I know of him and value him and I and my family will remember him always. This note does not bring back Captain Giat, but please know that he has touched the lives of many people here, thousands of miles away, safe, because of him. Thank you.

To the family of Major David Nati Alfasi, I’m so sorry for your loss! May God give you peace and comfort during this difficult time and help you deal with the death of your loved one. Prayers are the only thing I know of that can help you get through this difficult time. Cherish your memories. No one can ever take away your memories. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
