To the family of Yair Shushani,
I am very grateful to Yair for sacrificing his life to protect Am Yisrael. It is strange for me that, as a Netivot Hatorah student, these very halls were also walked by Yair. I felt connected to him when I watched a Yom Hazikaron play that talked about him. He was an amazing soldier and will be remembered by me. I hope that one day, there will be no more war, and there will be no more need for sacrifices like Yair’s. I promise to think of him when I feel grateful to all the soldiers who fell in battle.

dear hero, thank you for your service and bravery. even though I never met you I want to thank you for everything you did to serve bnei yisroel. at netivot hatorah (my school) we had a tekes to commemorate the lost heros. during the tekes I wondered about how how young you might have been, or if you ever missed your family. to your family, be strong, please know that your child or brother is not forgotten. we rember him not just as a soldier but as one of us, a proud jew.
I daven for peace and freedom for all the hostages. AM ISRAEL CHAI!!!!

dear Rafael, you are a hero in our eyes. you fought off the very people who wanted to end the Jewish people entirely. you gave it you all and I hope you know we all don’t even know how to thank you for all that you have done. your memory will be a everlasting memory of not just a soldier, but of a jew.

Dear parents,
I am writing to you to honor the memory of your beloved daughter Corp. Naama Bonny of the 77th Battalion of the Armored Corps who was killed saving so many others from her unit at Zikim Base that terrible day October 7th, 2023.
I can hardly imagine what I could say by way of comfort at the loss of your beloved daughter.
All I can tell you is that I did not know your Naama but hearing her story and seeing her face, too young to die, I wish I had known her.
Her exceptional qualities shine from her face, that she was dearly loved by you, and her courage and strength of character there in her actions to the very end, and that she was dearly loved by you both.
Her sacrifice for her fellow soldiers and for our beautiful country and for us all, here too where I am in diaspora, will never be forgotten.
I will light a Yarzeit lamp pray and say kaddish for Naama every year on rhe 23 Tishrei and at Yizkor 4 times a year in Naama’s beautiful memory and in unity with you.
