My heart stopped for a moment when I read his biography, how he convinced his mother to let him join the army and his mother’s response. I cannot express my gratitude enough I’m so sorry what happens, I know it cant be changed but he died standing for Israel, I don’t know how people can be so selfless. we had a assembly and it was about all the fallen soldiers I and everyone else learned so much about the soldiers and Yair was there we learned so much about his story and I found out we both had something in common. while Yair was growing up he attended Netivot Hatorah Day School and I go there to we had a moment of silence for Yair and they showed us a video of when he had his Bar Mitzvah at school.

Hi family of Yair Yaakov Shushani,
I just wanted to let you know how brave and amazing your son was, and I wonder who he got these amazing traits from 🙂
I want to say how I am also a student in Netivot HaTorah just like your son, brother, and family member was and in fact I’m writing you this letter here.
Today (Yom Ha Zikaron), our school made an event about all the amazing and brave soldiers that fought and fell for our country and people, and they chose out of all the people 4 of them and Yair was one of them.
We watched a video in honor of him, and also lit a memorial candle for him.

Please stay strong and keep your emunah in Hashem strong, I hope this will soon be over.

He is so brave as he was the first soldier to fall within Lebonon.
Israel stands strong because of his sacrifce. He really is a true fighter.

Dear Schwartz family,
Today in our school in Toronto, Netivot HaTorah, we paused to remember David. Where I was in the summer, I had the privilege to meet Yakira Gitler. She was my counselor and the whole camp got to hear a lot of things about David. Even though I didn’t know him physically, I am so thankful to him for putting his life out there for all of Medinat Yisrael. During our Yom Hazikaron ceremony, I was thinking about if I were in the position of David. It must’ve been so hard for him to leave all of his family behind, but he was brave enough to do it for the sake of all of Israel and protect his home country. Words cannot describe how thankful everyone is for the work David put in for the Jewish people. He was brave enough to sacrifice his life for others. This really shows selflessness and the care he gave to others. David will be remembered by many, and we are all grateful for him.

May his Neshama have an Aliyah.

Dear Family of Haim,

Today in my Jewish day school on Yom Hazikron. I pause to remember you. Even though I never met you or Haim I want to thank him for being strong and protecting Israel and Am Israel. And I want to thank you for being so strong through difficult times like this. By the sound of his bio he seemed like an amazing person,son,uncle,sibling,friend,etc. He risked everything to protect me,my family,and Jews around the world. Even though I live in Canada I still want to show my regards to you and Haim. Because of bravery, Israel stands strong. Because of his sacrifice, I can grow up to be a proud Jew and I’m Inspired by people like your son to join the army. Please know your child isn’t forgotten and never will be. We don’t remember him as just a soldier who died rather one of us. His memory is part of our classroom, community,and most importantly our hearts. I pray for peace for his soul and for you. I hope you are okay it must have been hard losing someone so special. I promise to remember him. And I will live with gratefulness knowing the safety of Israel is protected by someone as special as him.
