It’s as if I’ve lost a Daughter. I am so sad I could not be there to join the fight and could not save her. I’m many thousands of miles away but she died fighting to save me and my family just as surely as we were standing next to her. We will grieve for her and light a candle on her yahrzeit. We know that she is a hero and you must be so proud of her. We wish we could do something to ease your pain. We are eternally grateful for her sacrifice May her memory be for a blessing for all of us.

It was an honor and privilege to have briefly met Shlomo on the FIDF Poland/Israel mission in 2023.

I actually got to also meet Shlomo’s brother and father at the FIDF Society conference in Washington DC earlier this year.

My condolences to your entire family. May his memory be for a blessing.

Although I only met Shlomo briefly, being with him and the other IDF soldiers in Poland and in Israel in 2023 had an indelible and permanent impact on me and everyone else on the mission.

We all miss him and pray that HaShem elevates his neshama for an aliya.
