I took a moment today and thought about a stranger, your son Shlomo. I read about his love of being a soldier-willing to make the sacrifice for his country. I am deeply moved by his valor and humility in everything he touched. He did not need a spotlight to shine. It’s the quiet heroes like Shlomo who are examples of courage and consistency putting it all out on the line knowing that any day could be his last. I will never do your son the justice of the honor and respect he deserves, but I can tell you that today-on this day-his family, friends and all that loved him are not the only ones thinking of Shlomo. Today is the day I met your son for the first time through the eyes of those who loved him the most. I am honored, indeed. to have taken that moment.
