More than 600 guests joined world champion poker player Jamie Gold and Founder and CEO of the Wall Street Conference and Founding Partner Jason S. Lyons this past Saturday for a “Casino Royale” event at the exclusive Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach. The event, to support wellbeing services for the men and women of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), raised $115,000.
The Young Leadership Division of the Greater Miami and Palm Beach/Broward Chapters of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) hosted Gold, a TV producer-turned-poker maven who went on to win the 2006 World Series of Poker, the biggest event in the game’s history. Gold led a field of 8,772 players for 15 hours a day, 10 straight days, competing for an $87 million pool.
The tenth anniversary of the Casino Royale event also brought the black-tie fundraiser across social media, with guests sharing photos and live feeds through Twitter using the hashtag #FIDF. Guests were treated to premium drinks, high-end raffle items and free valet parking. Over the past decade the event has raised more than $1 million for wellbeing and educational programs for Israel’s brave soldiers.
