Poker legend Eli Elezra was born and raised in Jerusalem and currently resides in Las Vegas. A former officer in the Golani Brigade, Elezra has won four World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets and one World Poker Tour (WPT) championship. In total, Elezra has earned an impressive 11 career titles, 94 career cashes, and almost $4 million in tournament winnings, as well as untold millions in cash games.

Despite not having much time to play poker, Gershon M. Distenfeld recently made the final table of the World Series of Poker’s Main Event, where he finished in 8th place. Gershon pledged his $125,855 in winnings to various charities. Professionally, Gershon is Co-Head of Fixed Income & Director of Credit at AllianceBernstein, where he oversees the management of over $300B in client assets. Philanthropically, Gershon is a community leader and innovator. He has focused most of his efforts over the past two decades on the issue of Jewish Day School affordability, founding an innovative school, Yeshivat He’Atid, at a price point 40% cheaper than alternatives. Gershon and his wife, Aviva, are involved in numerous charitable endeavors in both the United States and Israel.

Maria Konnikova

Maria Konnikova - Precision Poker Strategist

Maria Konnikova most recently authored The Biggest Bluff, a New York Times bestseller and Notable Book of 2020. While researching The Biggest Bluff, Maria became an international poker champion and the winner of over $300,000 in tournament earnings—inadvertently turning into a professional poker player.
Konnikova also wrote bestsellers The Confidence Game, winner of the 2016 Robert P. Balles Prize in Critical Thinking, and Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes, an Anthony and Agatha Award finalist, and is a regularly contributing writer for The New Yorker. Her writing has been featured in The Best American Science and Nature Writing and has been translated into over twenty languages. Konnikova also hosts the podcast The Grift from Panoply Media, a show that explores con artists and the lives they ruin, and is currently a visiting fellow at NYU's School of Journalism. Her podcasting work earned her a National Magazine Award nomination in 2019. She graduated from Harvard University and received her PhD in psychology from Columbia University.
