On August 31, 2021, more than 100 FIDF supporters gathered at a private home in Beverly Hills to celebrate and honor soldiers of the NetzahYehuda Battalion of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The event, which was generously chaired by Judy and David Hager and Lee Samson, raised over $2 million in support of the soldiers of Nahal Haredi. The evening’s celebrated honoree was Leo David, founderof FIDF’s Western Region.
The Nahal Haredi Brigade was created as a place for Haredi Israeli youth who choose to serve in the IDF. Traditionally, most Israeli Haredi youth opt out of IDF service to attend Yeshiva and so the Nahal Haredi Brigade has become a specialized place for the select few who serve. Netzah Yehuda serves as a connection point between the Haredi and secular Israeli society and shows everyone how they can coexist together. This spirit of unification is important to many friends of the IDF, and the Western Region’s support is surely felt by many in Netzah Yehuda.
