IDF soldiers served a double duty when they celebrated Chanukah with the Westchester/Connecticut FIDF chapter in Stamford. Having IDF soldiers visit communities allows for inspiration, education, and, often some friendly competition with some of the most capable competitors on earth-IDF soldiers.
This was the case when over 50 people gathered on the seventh night of Chanukah at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Connecticut, for the first ever FIDF tennis competition. Participants were able to celebrate the holiday with IDF soldiers before challenging them to a round of doubles. The tournament featured a tough competition, with FIDF supporters Jared Mehl and Greg Royceeventually declared the winners. But the gift of a Chanukah celebration with IDF soldiers and tennis makes all who were in attendance winners.
