Two hundred Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) supporters from the South Palm Beach/Broward area, along with Maskit Fashion House’s head designer Sharon Tal of Israel and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Maj. Michal Duvdevani Mesika, Assistant Israeli Defense Attaché to the U.S., gathered on April 3 in Boca Raton for a fashion event, “Strength By Design,” to support well-being and educational programs for the soldiers of the IDF.
“Strength By Design,” sponsored by FIDF’s Women’s Campaign, also featured Israel’s Consul General to Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Puerto Rico, Lior Haiat. The event was chaired by Robin Rosenbaum and co-chaired by Nancy Iscowitz and Bonnie Silverman, all from Boca.
The event brought together FIDF friends and supporters to hear from Maj. Duvdevani Mesika, and featured clothing by Tal, head designer of luxury Israeli fashion house, Maskit. Guests were able to shop for designer clothing as they learned about Israeli fashion through a multi-media presentation. Tal was recently nominated for Designer of the Year in the 2018 Fashion Awards by Israel’s “At” Magazine.
“The event was an exciting show of the strength of women in fashion as well as in the military,” said Susan Levin-Abir, Executive Director of the FIDF South Palm Beach/ Broward Region. “Hosting this event with someone so talented, like Sharon, was a wonderful experience, and it was amazing to see everyone come out to support the brave men and women of the IDF.”
