350 attendees help FIDF Guys Night Out raise funds for IDF

The Friends of the Israel Defense Forces hosted its Guys Night Out fundraiser for the IDF on June 6 at Beechmont Country Club in Orange. Money raised at the event will be donated to the IDF in support of the Gaza battalion and soldiers in Northern Gaza, Lane Schlessel, executive director of the FIDF Ohio chapter, told the Cleveland Jewish News.

“We were so happy, pleased and impressed with the turnout this year, of not only the participants, but setting a record in sponsorships,” he said.

About 350 attendees could gamble at different casino-style card games, and enjoy the likes of a premium liquor bar, kosher strolling dinner, cigar lounge and scotch and tequila bar. A silent auction, with prizes including golf giveaways, liquor baskets and a trip to Israel, and a raffle were held throughout the night. The silent auction closed with guests bidding up until the last second.

The raffle, in which three people were selected for prizes of $500, $1,000 and $1,500, was open to attendees until winners were drawn. Winners of the $500 and $1,500 prizes donated their winnings to the FIDF.
