LEADERS FROM NY REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY GATHER
AT BENEFIT WITH WOUNDED ISRAELI HEROES

Some 100 leaders from New York’s real estate industry gathered Tuesday evening, July 19, 2016 at Gansevoort Park Avenue for the Friends of the Israel DefenseForces (FIDF) New York Real Estate Division Summer Networking Event to meet wounded Israeli soldiers.
Speaking at the event was CBRE Group Chairman of Global Brokerage Stephen Siegel, as well as wounded active-duty and veteran IDF soldiers.

“This sold-out event gave FIDF supporters in the real estate industry the amazing opportunity to connect with one another around our shared passion for helping the brave men and women of the IDF,” said Olivia Lichaa, director of the FIDF New York Real Estate Division. “Our supporters met wounded IDF soldiers and veterans, who have risked their lives in defense of the State of Israel.”

The FIDF New York Real Estate Division was created in 2006 by a group of successful business and philanthropic leaders who were passionate about supporting the soldiers of the IDF and securing Israel. Since then, this division has played an extensive role in several development projects, including the construction of a well-being center at the IDF Revaya Base for the 188th Brigade’s 71st Battalion, and support for other well-being and educational programs for Israeli soldiers. The Real Estate Division plays a central role in the activities of the FIDF Tri-State Region.

The wounded soldiers in attendance included Lt. Shmuel Desalei Mashasha, who lost a leg in battle in Gaza when his position was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade, and Sgt. 1st Class Lotan Dovrat, who suffered wounds to his arms and body during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza, when he entered a booby-trapped home.

Other distinguished guests included FIDF New York Real Estate Division Chairman Shimon Shkury, who is also founder and president of Ariel Property Advisors; Douglaston Development Chairman Jeffrey Levine, who generously donated the venue for this event; FIDF Tri-State Executive Director Galit Brichta; and Lichaa.

Proceeds from this event went towards FIDF well-being and educational programs for Israeli soldiers.
