STRIDES Athletes Shine in Eilat Ironman
On Friday, January 31, six amputee IDF veterans completed the Ironman Triathlon in Eilat. All six are part of the FIDF Strides Program, which provides advanced athletic prosthetics to disabled IDF veterans. These athletes decided to compete together in the “Eilat Israman,” and successfully completed a course that includes 1.2 miles of swimming, 56.5 miles of cycling, and a 13.1 mile run. In doing so, they proved that no obstacle is too large for them to overcome, and that their disabilities might be severe, but they don’t have to take away from their lives. Their individual stories are as inspiring as their collective accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of their immense achievement.
