Young Professionals Mission

In November, a group of San Diegan Young Professionals traveled to Israel as part of a Federation/FIDF mission.  Mission participants had a boot camp experience where they carried stretchers as part of Special Forces camouflage training in the field.

The San Diego Chapter of the Friends of the IDF held its first annual Gala on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the Hilton Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.  In attendance were over 600 guests, which included members of congress and the California State Assembly, community clergy, as well as high ranking members of the Israel Defense Forces.

Inauguration Ceremony of a Mobile Synagogue

In March 2010, with the help of the Woolf Family and Congregation Adat Yeshurun of La Jolla, California, a mobile synagogue was opened at a remote base in southern Israel for the Aerial Surveillance Unit.
