New England Chapter

The New England Region of FIDF was founded in 2003. It is comprised of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and the eastern part of Connecticut. Our annual dinners have featured former Prime Ministers of Israel as guest speakers. Our generous donors have funded capital projects such as Sports Centers and many mobile gyms, clubs and synagogues. This year we are providing IMPACT! scholarships for 499 IDF combat veterans. Our missions to Israel have encouraged participants to make generous donations. We send an email newsletter to our members to promote our events and opportunities for supporting our work.

50th Anniversary Event - Honoring the IDF Heroes of Jerusalem

A Donor Recognition Reception is planned, to benefit the Impact Scholarship Program, and to honor the IDF heroes of Jerusalem.
On June 7, 1967, IDF paratroopers advanced through the Old City toward the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, bringing Jerusalem's holiest site under Jewish control for the first time in 2,000 years.
Special guests at the event will be three of the IDF Paratroopers who participated in the historic events of the Six Day War.

The 2016 Annual Dinner

More than 1,200 New Englanders gathered Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center for the Friends of the IDF New England Annual Dinner, which raised over $1 million to support well-being and educational programs for the brave men and women of the Israel Defense Forces. The guest speaker was Brigadier General (Ret.) Relik Shafir, one of the eight IDF pilots selected for the mission to bomb Osirak, Iraq’s nuclear reactor in 1981.

Women's Breakfast

Over 100 guests attended the 2nd Annual Women’s Breakfast on Sept 21st at a private home in Chestnut Hill. Miri Einsen, our keynote speaker, addressed the crowd with a talk about ethics in the IDF. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, FIDF will be able to empower countless Ethiopian-Israelis through our Amir Course; just like our other speaker Lieutenant Sivan Sisay. Her story of courage and perseverance is just one example of the amazing and diverse soldiers we help every day. In an emotional presentation, Sivan told the guests "I would have never believed in myself, three years ago, that I would be here... and it is thanks to this organization".

Making an Educational IMPACT!

Against the odds, Reut Efroni, Golan Nagani and Arthur Ness are pursuing their educational dreams. The three highly decorated soldiers in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are now high achieving college students advancing towards professional careers, as beneficiaries of a unique initiative of the Friends of the IDF (FIDF) that offers four-year scholarships to former IDF combat soldiers from disadvantaged, low-income families.
The program, they say, is giving them and others the chance to transform their lives, their communities and the well-being of Israel.          Read more
