FIDF builds synagogues at bases around Israel, providing soldiers on active duty, both observant and non-observant, the space needed to carry out religious practices, observe the Shabbat and celebrate Jewish holidays.
The IDF, under the supervision of the IDF Rabbinate, upholds Jewish religious laws, dietary practices, marriage and burial services, prayers, and the celebration of holidays. FIDF knows that by providing the soldiers with synagogues as well, we strengthen the soldiers’ Jewish identity and spirit.
FIDF supporters who will sponsor the creation of a synagogue will be invited to visit the unit during events they hold, will have a plaque installed at the venue and will participate at the inauguration of the building. Since 2009, FIDF has completed the construction of 6 IDF synagogues around the country.
