FIDF STRIDES Participant Joins Israel's Ironman Competition

FIDF’s STRIDES Program is dedicated to helping wounded IDF veterans live without limitation by giving them special, sports-centered prosthetics. In 2012, 12 participants flew to Long Island where A Step Ahead, a leader in the field, created prosthetic legs specifically for them and enabling them to run, bike and participate in other sports.

A year after the onset of FIDF’s STRIDES program, participant Adi Deutsch plans to take part in Israel’s Ironman competition, Israman, the country’s premiere long-distance triathlon race. Since the beginning of the program, Deutsch has participated in numerous competitions including the ITU World Triathlon Championships paratriathlon.

Deutsch, 53, was injured during his army service in Lebanon.
