Atlanta Hosts Former Soldier & Current IMPACT! Scholarship Student,

In April, the Atlanta Region was thrilled to host Yoni Asseraf, a combat soldier in the paratroopers’ brigade who received an award of excellence for his heroism and participation in the Second Lebanon War.

Yoni is currently in his fourth year of law studies in the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya. He is on a full ride IMPACT! Scholarship from the FIDF, without which he “would never have had the opportunity for the education he so greatly desired”.

While in Atlanta, Yoni attended parlor meetings to tell his story and meet people in the Atlanta Jewish Community. He visited The Epstein School, Davis Academy & Greenfield Hebrew Academy where he spoke to students about his experiences in the IDF and how having a scholarship from the FIDF changed his life. The students asked him some important and amazing questions and he was very impressed with each school! He also visited Congregation Or Hadash & The Kehilla of Sandy Springs and met with many FIDF supporters and donors.

The Atlanta community was inspired by Yoni’s story and we can’t wait for his next visit!
