Saluting the Future Soldiers of the IDF
While many of their peers are planning summer vacations and gearing up for college, there is a group of special young American men and women who have made a different choice. They choose to leave their homes and their families, travel across the world and give their all protecting the state of Israel. These are the lone soldiers of the IDF. Before they depart for their training in Israel, they participate in a program here in the US called Garin Tzabar.
On Sunday, July 18th, FIDF in partnership with the ILC held a celebration for Israel’s future soldiers and their families. This beautiful event was generously hosted by Dafna and Eli Tene at their home in Calabasas. Special guest Orit Mofaz, wife of former IDF Chief of Staff and Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz, addressed the group and spoke about the importance of the choice these young men and women have made. The evening concluded with a fun, vibrant performance by the Tzofim Friendship Caravan that had everyone dancing and singing along.
