San Diego Chapter
The San Diego Region of Friends of the IDF was founded in 2003 by Nina and Dan Brodsky. In 2007, Norman Smith took the lead of the Chapter, and successfully passed it on to Julian Josephson who is currently the Chairman of the San Diego Board, and Vice President of the National Board of Directors. While the vast majority of support is derived from San Diego, the region has also conducted activities with donors in Texas, Los Angeles, New York, Maryland, and Florida.
The San Diego Region has been a national leader in raising funds for a variety of programs. Our donors sponsor nearly 60 IMPACT! Scholarships, have adopted 2 IDF battalions, have sponsored SPIRIT Weeks for combat battalions, and have built numerous major capital projects.
