Western Region Gala Raises $5.2 Million to Benefit Soldiers 
On Thursday, December 17th, more than 1,100 people filled the International Ballroom of The Beverly Hilton hotel to honor Israel's brave soldiers. The annual LA Gala, which was once again chaired by Cheryl & Haim Saban, was completely sold out by the first of December and set a new record raising $5.2 million in support of a variety of programs that ease the burden and further the wellbeing of Israel's soldiers.
Jason Alexander served as Master of Ceremonies for the event whose Gala Co-Chairs included Adele & Beny Alagem, Joyce & Avi Arad, Steve, Bing, Joyce & Stanley Black, Ruth & Leo David, Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer & Mel Keefer, Erika Glazer, Vera & Paul Guerin, Sue & Larry J. Hockberg, Israeli Leadership Council, Jena & Michael King, Avi Lerner & Danny Dimbort, Nathalie & Maurice Marciano, Katherine Merage, Soraya & Younes Nazarian, Fela & David Shapell, Victoria & Ron Simms, Adi & Philip Werthman, and Lila & David Wiener.
In announcing that the Gala had raised $1.6 million, Gala Chair Haim Saban stated that he and his wife, Cheryl, would be matching that total "dollar for dollar." That generous announcement followed Western Region President Paul Guerin's announcement of a $1 million pledge by he and his wife. Two additional $500,000 pledges were made by Victoria & Ron Simms and Erika Glazer.
