YOUNG CHICAGO LEADERS GATHER TO SUPPORT ISRAELI SOLDIERS AT FIDF ‘WALL PARTY’
CHICAGO, Aug. 10 – Some 300 young leaders from Chicago’s Jewish community gathered last Thursday night at Rockit, one of Chicago’s hottest bars, to support wellbeing and education programs for Israel’s brave soldiers.
The ‘Wall Party,’ hosted by the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Central Region Young Leadership (YL) Division, brought together friends and supporters of the organization for a night of music and cocktails in front of a model of the iconic Western Wall – called the ‘Kotel’ in Hebrew – where guests placed prayer notes and messages to be delivered to the actual Wall in Jerusalem.
“The Wall Party and other Young Leadership events are essential opportunities for younger supporters to get involved in FIDF,” said Rockit Founder and Chairman and FIDF YL event host Brad Young. “Meeting and hearing firsthand from Israeli soldiers is the best way to show the next generation of FIDF leaders how much these brave soldiers appreciate our support.”
Distinguished guests included FIDF IMPACT! scholarship recipients Staff Sgt. (Res.) Ofir, a former IDF combat soldier, and Staff Sgt. (Res.) Shahar, a former IDF medic, both of whom are helping to bring the messages to Jerusalem; Rockit Founder and Chairman and FIDF YL event host Brad Young; and FIDF Central Region YL Host Committee Member Jason Erkes.
